 The Lanse-Aux-Paille / Chataignier Family Run attracted a good crowd this year, riding on horseback and on trailers. The top pictures is an example of the mortar board costume, a form of Mardi Gras dress making fun of scholars that goes back centuries.

The other pictures were taken shortly after the run left the grounds of Chataigner High School about 8:30 a.m.
